A one week course on ‘UAV Remote Sensing and its Applications’ was successfully conducted at NESAC for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) officials working in Space Cell from 31st October, 2022 to 4th November, 2022. A total of 23 officials from BSF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP and IB participated in the course. The objective of the course was to disseminate knowledge to participants on UAVs and its components, flight planning for data acquisitions for various remote sensing applications. The course emphasised on mapping and surveillance applications, different data processing techniques such as generation of Orthomosaic, digital surface model (DSM), digital terrain model (DTM), contour maps, volumetric analysis etc. The five day course also included practical sessions on flight simulator, mission planning and data acquisition, data processing and data analysis.
