Eighteen B.Sc. 4th Year students from College of Agriculture (Central Agricultural University-Imphal), Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh along with two faculty members visited NESAC on 25th April 2022 as a part of their educational tour to institutes of importance in North Eastern Region of India. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Chandan Goswami, Scientist ‘SE’ of NESAC. Dr. B. K Handique, Scientist ‘SF’ gave a very insightful lecture on “Remote Sensing Applications in Agriculture with special emphasis on UAV applications” followed by another thought-provoking lecture on “Hyperspectal Remote Sensing Applications in Agriculture” by Dr. Chandan Goswami.
Dr. Pradesh Jena, Scientist ‘SD’ and Dr. Francis Dutta, Scientist ‘SC’ demonstrated the hyperspectral sensors available at NESAC, explaining their mode of operation. Shri. Sanjay Pandit, Scientist ‘SD’ talked on working principles of UAVs and demonstrated different UAVs alongside the sensors and cameras available at NESAC. The students and the faculties also visited the “Space on Wheels” bus and were briefed about the exhibits on Indian Space Programme by Dr. Francis Dutta.
The students showed very high level of enthusiasm during the entire programme and interacted with the scientists of NESAC and provided very good feedback on the overall experience.
