Shri Somanath S., Chairman, ISRO and Secretary, Department of Space visited NESAC on 18th April, 2023. Dr S.P Aggarwal, Director, NESAC welcomed Chairman, ISRO on behalf of NESAC and made a presentation on the recent activities and achievements of NESAC.
Chairman, ISRO; who is also the Chairman of NESAC Governing Council interacted with the NESAC staff and appreciated the efforts of NESAC in innovative use of space technology while addressing the unique challenges faced by the north eastern region of the country. He also emphasized the need for delivering outcomes, particularly for the user sponsored projects, which will make a positive impact on people’s lives in the region. He also advised NESAC to take guidance from ISRO centres like NRSC and SAC so as to promote synergy and ensure that the best practices and technologies are being used across ISRO/DOS Centes. He visited the construction site of 500 seater auditorium, reviewed the progress and planted a tree in the site. He also made a quick visit to various NESAC facilities. He was accompanied by Shri Shantanu Bhatawdekar, Scientific Secretary, ISRO and Dr Prakash Chauhan, Director, NRSC.
