Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), is being celebrated throughout the country to commemorate 75 years of Independence from 15th August 2022 to 15th August 2023. As a part of this celebration, NESAC organized an open webinar on ‘NavIC – its Applications and Benefits to the Society’ on 3rd July, 2023. The talk was delivered by Shri F B Singh, Deputy General Manager, IGSA & Deputy Project Director, IRIMS, IRNSS GSN, ISTRAC, ISRO.
The talk provided valuable insights and experiences in the domain of Indian regional navigation system. A comprehensive overview of NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation), including design and development of NavIC enabled GNSS chips were covered during the talk. He highlighted application of NavIC in Business solutions, transportation, natural resources and land management, time dissemination and synchronization, surveying and geodesy, precision farming, strategic and emergency response.
The webinar was attended by professionals from diverse domain of disaster management, State Remote Sensing Application centres, user departments and students from universities in north eastern states.
Shri F B Singh’s expertise on the planning, designing, development and execution of IRNSS inspired the participants to explore the use NavIC in their respective field. Director, NESAC appreciated and thanked the speaker for delivering the talk.
